Dear All

The nice people from Prime Time are coming to visit me at 1pm to ask me about whether we should be continuing the 15 minute observation time after covid vaccine. My understanding was that we do the 15 min wait for covid vaccines but not fluvax (or any other vaccine) because of the possibly higher (or maybe just unknown) rate of anaphylaxis from it.

I'm guessing that across our practices we may be close to having given around 100.000 covid vaccines this year......are any of you aware of any significant allergic reactions/anaphylaxis episodes from any of them?

I’ve a patient with a broken nose. He had his vaccination through work in Dublin. Waited 15 minutes, left, felt faint outside, fell and broke his nose.
Would that count?

We had one nasty reaction. Patient (staff member of course !) went pale clammy, hypertensive and tachycardic) lasted a few days. On verge of giving adrenaline but went with im piriton and oral prednesol with good effect.

Going to report it, otherwise nothing.
