We are still seeing high volumes of tel calls and consultations and wonder how other practices are managing regards charging for these
Obviously very convenient for patients AND saves us footfall and time
There is a bit of push back from the Public to paying in full for this service
How are other practices doing ?

We’ve always charged full price for phone calls with the result that we now
do very few. We’re mostly face to face, well, being masks which was
established before Halloween.
The majority of patients arrive with no masks. I’ve offered them used ones
but they don’t seem too keen on that arrangement. If Covid didn’t exist
then a used one wouldn’t matter….

We had reduced phone charges during early covid and then full rate in Nov 21. We give them the options.
Some happy with telephone call and the convenience  that come with it. There was initial push back but not anymore and people are happy with the service that we provide.
We still have telephone calls and we try and manage it as best as we can….

Think Reception can explain that they are getting a consultation & if examn required same/ next day , that is included on the phone consultation fee.
Think there will always be pushback when it comes to paying for a "caring" service that people often need more than want ... ! Think worth sticking to your guns so that medical professionalism continues to be valued ,especially as in comparison to fees charged by other other professions

We experiencing alot less grumbling now , especially with pre-paid consultations...

Regards
