Dear all

Wondering if I could pick the brains of any community surgeons out there please.
Do you have any minor surgery templates you use to make the recording on Socrates more efficient?
Niall maguire sent me this wonderful PCSA audit tool he has for H1 with drop down boxes for anatomical site, surgical procedure, type of LA, method of wound closure etc etc and it even prints the insurance claim forms with the procedure code! It is only available for health 1 and not Socrates though.
The more surgical procedures I am doing the more I am weighed down with the administrative side; of which I spend the same amount of time, if not more - filling out the consent forms, the insurance forms, histology forms, patient records....than doing the procedure itself.
Any advice or help to make this administrative burden more streamlined would be gratefully received.

Thanks
Karen

I have the same issue with joint injection. I just go investigations to
create a template of what you want to include in your skin surgery
template.
It’s not as good but u can customise it to how u want.
I just document - look at investigations.
That’s what we have been doing.
Happy to try something better.

Hi Karen,
I used the Scocrstes audit tool for over 20 years, sadly all the additional
work had to be done in addition.
I was hoping to meet you soon to see if we could use the PCSA format to
simplify the process.
I will contact you after the long weekend. Ernán
