ICT Tip 31 – Socrates – Note to Pharmacy

It is sometimes nice to be able to include a note to the Pharmacy when sending a Healthmail prescription.  You can do you utilizing the additional instructions box at the lower end of the edit drug dialogue.
Another way to do it, especially if it is a general remark rather than about a specific drug, is to create a user drug called “Note to Pharmacy” and write the general remarks into the addition instructions there.
To add a user drug you go to
My Control Panel==>Admin Console==>Drugs
This is where you can enter any user drug but for the purposes of this exercise, we will keep it simple.  There are lots of potential fields here, but you only need to give it a name, click next and save.  So, in the trade name box call it Note to Pharmacy, click next and then save.
Now when doing a prescription you can search for the “Note to Pharmacy” drug via add, you don’t need to enter any dosages or anything, just add you note to the additional instructions and this will appear in the Healthmail prescription.  See example below
