IMO Update
GP Payments - PCRS Update

Dear Member,

The IMO met with PCRS Wednesday 26th May to discuss issues arising from the HSE cyber attack and with regard to the next GP payment run. Please see below, a summary of the salient points:

  • Next Payment run is due on June 14th.
  • Capitation, Superannuation and Practice Supports will be paid as normal.
  • CDM, Special Items of Service and Covid Vaccinations cannot be submitted at present.
  • It has been agreed between the IMO and PCRS that a payment on account equating to an average of your last three months payments under these headings will be paid to each GMS GP.
  • For CA and CB claims the averaging will be over the last 2 months.
  • Any over or under payments will be reconciled once systems are back online.
  • Each GP will get a statement of payment clearly itemising the payments including the payment on account.
  • It is hoped that GPs will be able to access this on the PCRS suite but if not alternative arrangements will be made.
  • Medical Cards are as they were on the 14th May i.e. no patient can lose eligibility from this time and while systems are down.
  • Some emergency additions are being made (approximately 50 per week) and GPs will be written to if this involves an application to join their GMS list.

IMO and PCRS have agreed to review the situation further if there is a possibility that systems may be down longer and as matters develop.  We will continue to update members as issues arise and in the meantime if you have any queries in relation to the foregoing please do not hesitate to contact our dedicated GP member advisory team on memberadvisoryunit@imo.iemailto:memberadvisoryunit@imo.ie

Yours sincerely

IMO Team
