When you are finished seeing a patient there are two ways to close the file, either click the X in the top right hand corner and then click on OK or some of you might click on the left hand side “finish consultation” which finishes the consultation – making the top red but you still have to click the X on the top right although this time you don’t have to click on OK for save. Both these methods require two clicks.

You can however set a preference so that when you click on finish consultation it also closes the file, hence closing with one click.
To set this up go to Edit==>Preferences
Click on the Consultation tab, and put a tick beside “Close Consultation Window when finished” Click OK

Mind you, it strikes me now, to get to the “finish consultation” you have to go to the summary screen!
The quickest way of all to close a file is probable with the keyboard, Ctrl-F4 then hit the return key for OK
