Socrates Update

No tip this week, rather an update on the Socrates project.  As you know the plan is for all Centric sites to use the one EMR platform and the one chosen was Socrates.  This will allow us to provide and implement many exciting new initiatives.
We have been working away on the project, migrating sites from other platforms to Socrates.  We recently passed a significant milestone when the last HPM site, in Palmerstown, was migrated to Socrates.
It may surprise some of you to hear that it is only in the last week that I myself moved to Socrates.  This is because it took a long time to develop the Health One to Socrates migration tool.  My site in Blessington was the test site for the first scheduled Health one migration.  We had done some Health One  before, but these were required because of site merges.  So yes, this last week I have suffered the agonies of the changeover that has been inflicted on many of you!  Thankfully, it all went well, and we are happily operating in the Socrates environment now.  The tips might get even better now that I am using it day to day!!
Here is a snapshot of the current position.
[cid:image002.png@01D74BC4.A7CC8270]

Not ready for migration generally means a hardware upgrade is required before the migration.
The plan now is to proceed with the remaining sites over the summer and we hope to have everybody migrated by the autumn.  Thank you all for your patient and co-operation, especially during those challenging weeks when we do a change over.
When all sites are on Socrates the project will be only half completed, the next phase will involve maximising the use of the Socrates functionality for all, through training and support plus integration with other tools to enhance our digital abilities.  More on all this to follow in the coming months.

Great work Michael, though, I half expected to see a slim piece of the pie:

(in Black): 1% --Die-hard Health One users- NEVER moving to Socrates!

H1 is great, but I think the benefit of us all using the one system will outweigh all the other considerations.
