We probable all have a fairly good idea of who our frequent attenders are and of course it’s a multi layered issue, many are appropriate.  However, there is no doubt that for some, different management can appropriately reduce the number of visits.
As always it starts with information and there is a good report that you can use to identify who your frequent attenders are and how often they are attending.
Use the report called “Patient Visit Totals”
The report opens this dialogue
[Graphical user interface  Description automatically generated]

Enter an appropriate start and end date, make the condition greater than or equal to from the drop-down list and enter a number of visits as appropriate.  You can adjust these numbers until you get a manageable result.
You should get a result something like this which tells you the patients and the number of times they have visited.

I’m not sure exactly which visit types it counts, it’s not every type but I don’t know exactly which, but it certainly gives a good indicative result.  No doubt there will be familiar names there but there might be some surprises as well.
