Dear Amy and all our GP Colleagues –

This is very timely of you and indeed we have got two courses dedicated to Centric Health running on April 15th and 22nd at UCD.

We are restricted to 36 places in total per course which of course is not enough for everyone obviously but in fact it mirrors the number of practices we have around the country – only this week I have been finalising the invitation with Edyta and we will now come at it from both sides  - an invitation both to our GP and Nurse Colleagues. You will all appreciate our goal also through the course is to calibrate and standardise our Resuscitation Trolleys in each practice – anticipating 95% will be already streamlined –  but this will insure that we have the same policies and equipment / airways / bags / masks / meds / cannulae / oxygen / adrenaline etc in each practice and we will have stocked trolleys along to demonstrate all the equipment.

Therefore the invitation is to each practice and if we can insure that we have 1 representative GP or Practice Nurse from all of our practices and if you can please discuss together in each practice so that there is one registrant please.

We would love to run more courses with UCD when we can and of course we will continue to run practice based BLS courses as is our clinical requirement every two years.

I will so use this window as the invitation given your prompt Amy and can I ask each GP practice to liaise with their nurse colleagues and to agree one registrant who then can complete the application form attached through the UCD portal. We have negotiated a discounted registration fee on behalf of each practice.

Invite following the context above -

Here, at Centric Health, we put our patients and staff safety first. Our Clinical Leadership Team discussed how we can support our colleagues in keeping their clinical competency to manage emergency situations in the General Practices on an effective and minimum stress level. Please see main points from the meeting below:

  • Patient Emergency Presentation Policy was reviewed and updated, you can access it via Centric World  Patient Emergency Presentation Policyhttps://centrichealthire.sharepoint.com/:f:/r/sites/CentricConnect/Centric%20Connect%20Library/Quality%20%26%20Risk/Clinical%20Policies/Policies%20%26%20Procedures/Patient%20Emergency%20Presentation%20Policy?csf=1&web=1&e=LmK5Kd
  • 70 places for the UCD: Immediate Care Cardiac Course  were secured. Training is taking place in UCD on Saturday 15th April and 22nd April. The aim of the course is to provide participants with the clinical competence to manage life-threatening cardiac related emergencies in a pre-hospital setting. One clinician (GP or General Practice Nurse) per practice is required to attend the training (you can pick which date is more suitable). Please read the attached leaflet.
    *  Clinicians that are attending the training will be accountable for demonstrating obtained skills in their Practices in the week following the course (PM is responsible to allocate a training time for same) – we are seeking one such representative from each practice
    *  A discount for the course applies and the practice will pay the fee

We look forward to meeting you in UCD in April.

The course has been accredited for x6 external CPD points

Kind regards,

Clinical Leadership Team
