Topical today (4/7/2023) given the news that all 6 and 7 year olds are going to get a DVC card. Here are a few ways to find out stuff about your 6 and 7 year olds.
1: How many 6 and 7 years olds are on the practice list that currently don’t have a medical card?
Note for this to be accurate you need to have been good at removing the medical card status when children turned 6 and changing them too private.
Use the report “Full Patient Listing

1: Put in 6 to 7 in the age fields
2: Untick All and tick all the categories you use for private patients
3: Click OK
The result will tell you haw many private 6 and 7 years olds you currently have.
2: How much private income did 6 and 7 year olds generate last year
Use the report Total Surgery Income (Under 5)
1: Put in the dates for last year
2: Put in ages 6 to 7
3: Untick All and tick any categories you use for private patients
4: Click OK

This answer will only be an indicative amount.
3: If they all get DVC cards what will the income from these 6 and 7 years olds be?
Multiple the result of 1 above by the capitation rate of 6- and 7-year-olds. This is currently €64.66 per annum. I don’t know yet what or if any, new capitation rate will apply.
4: What are the consultation rates for 6 and 7 years olds, gms and private.
