We would all have a general understanding that you must make the top green before you can alter a file.  In fact, there are several things you can do to a file without having to make the top green.  This is because the action is recorded in a different way.  The list includes things like

  • Edit the patient details page
  • Scan in a document
  • Do a repeat prescription as long as the items are in "to print"
  • add a task
  • add a reminder,
  • send an SMS,
  • print a label,
  • assign a note to a POMR
  • charge or pay a bill
  • e-mail the patient
  • e-mail a letter or document
There maybe more, if you know any let us know.

Is there a way of accessing these in later life if and when we go to The
Big S?
Thanks.

Hi Alan

I think what you mean is for those sites that have not yet migrated to Socrates will these tips be available when you do migrate.  As a brief update there are only 3 practices that remain to migrate from the original list although there are a few more due to practices joining more recently etc.
The short answer to your question is yes.
The longer answer is we are well advanced in creating a sort of portal that will be accessible for all staff, not just GPs.  It will contain these tips and other stuff like video tutorials and much more.  No definite time line yet but I’m hoping certainly before Christmas.  I’ll let everyone know when it becomes available and how to access it.

To answer my own question, I've just discovered you can add baseline details as well without making the top green. Any more?
