ICT Tip 177 – General – Medical Calculators

One thing Socrates is not good at is medical calculators.  Former Health One users in particular miss these as Health One is really good at this.
One available option, not quite as slick I know, because you have to manually enter the data to make the calculations, is to use this site:

https://www.mdcalc.com/

It has almost everything you will need, like Well’s score, Has Bled, Chads 2, Montreal Cognition, GAD 7 etc.

It looks like this

Enter the calculator you are looking for in the search e.g. Well’s score for DVT. Click on it when you find it to open it.  In addition to having the actual calculator there is lots of additional information.

One particularly good option is you can copy the results and paste them into your Socrates notes.  Here is an example of copied results:

You can of course edit them to shorten them to essential information if you wish.
It doesn’t have absolutely everything, in particular no Q Risk score or Frax score which is copyrighted but overall it’s an excellent resource.
