ICT Tip 142 – Socrates – Release 2.9.0.4
Just a few weeks after the last release, a new release of Socrates is rolling out. You can see the details here:

Here is a brief summary of the changes.
1: There is support for a Billink virtual and physical payment terminal.
2: There is a useful addition allowing sending an SMS text message with appointment details at the time of booking the appointment.
3: A print button has been added for the results of the excellent Finder Tool which was sorely missed in the original version.

4: A new button, if your Socrates is set up for sending e-mail, can be used to e-mail healthlink referrals if necessary.

5: You can also if you wish send an SMS while sending a Healthlink referral – could stop a few “has the referral been sent” calls.

6: A charge now button has been added to the refill prescription dialogue

I also notice, Heartwatch and Cycle of Care are gone from the Care Protocols.

Excellent updates and I see that this has been fixed:
2: There is a useful addition allowing sending an SMS text message with appointment details at the time of booking the appointment.
You now have option to tick box and send details when making each appointment, rather than sending for all made appointments by default which was the case a few weeks ago when this was added = we had unticked box in Socrates server manager due to details being sent for all appointment types including admin/tel appointments etc

This ability to send the patient a text about the ereferral (or with consent email a copy of the referral to them?) is excellent. I just heard today that checking on a referral is the fourth most common reason that patients call the practice.
