COVID Vaccines

Dear Colleagues,
The recent change in the expiry time from 5days to 30days makes a massive
difference to vaccine administration. Our brilliant team here in
Clondalkin, including one Dr Maurice Cox, administered 1100 Pfizer vaccines
over 2 days - which demonstrates the strength and the ability of our
organization.
I have access to very large numbers of Pfizer vaccines, 170 vials available
on 02/06/2021, which i suggest we distribute for administration to our
patients across the Centric Group.
Practically, the changes in expiry times means we can treat the vaccine
more like flu vaccination, just booking patients in batches of 6 and repeat
4 weeks later
Anybody interested in taking some of these vaccines?
Sincerely
Mick flynn

Well do to the Clondalkin gang on 1100 vaccine in 2 days.
Can we move the vaccines? Wasn’t there directive that said we can move vaccine from one location to another.
Happy to stand corrected.....

As much as it saddens me to say it, we have taken the decision here to stop vaccinating after we finish the rest of our second doses.  We have done over 2500 vaccines and have done all of our Over 70s and all the Group 4 patients we could find, and a fairly big chunk of group 7s as well.

And as much as the vaccinating days have been fun and friendly and joyful, this has been almost outweighed by the stress, abuse and nastiness directed to our admin staff by a small number of patients.  From people wanting to pick and choose their vaccine, jumping the queue, “How come all my neighbours/friends/relatives have all been vaccinated and you are only calling me now?”, insisting that they can’t get AZ because their grandad once had a DVT after his hip replacement…..as well as people giving out because they can’t get an appointment for several days because we have had to close for vaccination clinics…..the staff are all exhausted (including me!) and so we have decided to finally say Stop.

As well as that, it is really only healthy people between 20-40 who are yet to be covered by the Mass Vaccination Clinics, and we feel we need to get back to the “day job” now that we have vaccinated all the elderly and sick people in our parish.

So I guess I’m saying, in the finest Dragon’s Den fashion Mick, “I’m out….but I wish you all the best for the future!”

Paul (Churchtown)

PS.  It’s not very often Mick that you are the cheery one and I’m the doom and gloom merchant!
