Did you know, Centric have a mental health division called Centric Mental Health (formerly spectrum mental health),  https://mentalhealth.ie/

They operate out of a growing number of our Centric practices.

They recently launched a new CBT service and I was asked could I tell the GPs about it, which I am happy to do here.  See the information below, they use silvercloud, similar to the HSE service but with the significant difference that there is live interaction with a trained person to give assessment direction and instruction about the program, which the HSE version doesn't do as far as I know.  Summary below and full information in the attached leaflets.

I think it might be a very useful resource for many of our patients (and they might spend less time with you!!).

CBT Service at Centric Mental Health

Centric Mental Health are now offering a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) service, that will incorporate an online iCBT tool. CBT has proven to be highly effective for a range of problems including depression and anxiety, with a high proportion of clients reporting clinically significant improvements.

CBT places an emphasis on helping individuals help themselves. Through a combination of talk therapy and guided homework exercises outside of sessions, clients are helped to develop coping skills, whereby they can learn to identify and adapt their own patterns of thinking, feeling and acting.

Who is the service for?

This service will provide support for individuals experiencing non-complex mental health difficulties, which are not significantly impacting on their functioning. These could include:

  • Clients who are experiencing general stress.
  • Clients who are experiencing mild mental health difficulties for the first time in their life.
  • Clients who do not pose a risk of harm to themselves or others.
  • Clients who may never have received therapeutic support before.

Some specific examples of presenting issues could include:

  • General life stress
  • Mild depression or low mood
  • Mild anxiety of any type (general, social, health etc.)
  • Self-esteem or confidence difficulties
  • Adjusting to loss or change
  • Sleep hygiene difficulties
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Chronic pain
  • Fertility issues
